The Adventures of Syd PossibleCues for Spy-Girl Extreme
Welcome to the Syd Possible page. While writing the cues for the series I envisioned a spy-girl who was a combination of Disney's Kim Possible and Syd from Alias. These cues were written for the intended animated series which was supposed to be in the vein of Alias, Kim Possible and James Bond.

Syd In Deep Water
A drifty piece with Trip-Hop drums, perculating ambient synth, harp arpeggios, vibes and string leads.
Ambiences and space effects with a drifty string melody...languid. Lots of different textures surface but fade out again as others take their place. More concentration on synths than orchestra but still with lots of orchestral textures. A groove starts up around 30 seconds into the piece, and a lead line of strings in octaves. A soft metally percussive loop answers the phrase and then it's back to non tempo rubato ambiences.
Starts with pads and begins to gain momentum. Solo vocals come in and lead to more persistant beats and sound design motives, as brass swells set the mood. Ends with an East Indian vocal riff.
Starts with a bang with a brass accent which quickly gives way to a strongly pulsing synth. Brass punches accent the string melody. Lots of percussion and drums over synth pulses and ambiences.
A strong start developes with pulsing percussion, a string quartet. The second part has darker moods, bold brass, drum loops, strings and spoken words in German. Also has samples of a physics professor.
Big sound with sound design ambiences, synths, strings, and a Russian Choir. Pizz strings and timp solos punctuate the action. Acid synths segue to a plaintive string quartet ending, after a brief male vocal percussive episode.
Starts in a minor key and transitions to a jazzy phrase and back again. Dark in the A sections and lightens up in the B. Features electric piano, acoustic bass and a string quartet.
Big string ensemble sound answered by solo Soprano. A driving beat keeps the action up. Milder middle section with expressive violin soloing over vocal pads. Percussive synths enter with another passionate violin solo. Brass enter and take us to a real Jarre Zoo-Look ambience and then to the main theme reprised.
Lots of percussion starts the whole piece with strong sectional string phrases. Brass enter and build. Wood winds come in on a lighter note in the middle section, quickly yielding to orchestral percussion. Crowd fx come in after and the main theme repeats.
Heavy beat with close miked strings, guitar and African choir. Starts heavy and never really lets up. Rocky guitars come in about half way and are followed by the African Choir.
Strings open the piece over an assortment of industrial percussion. The Brass take melody with timpani answers. Soprano voices off-set the brass phrases. A moody spooky interlude brings us back to the bold brass and timp. Gongs crash and the piece is over.
Super fast and busy drums with chase type phrases above. Guitar plays an ostinato figure that gives way to a plaintive violin solo. The action is unrelenting as ensemble foot-stomps and shaky brass build to guitar solo phrases. A solo horn plays over a pulsing percussion loop and then the main theme is reprised. The outro has radio fx, timp glisses and jazzy guitar fades.
